Julieta Kirkwood (1937-1985). Sociologist and feminist theorist, was one of the most influential figures in the genesis and development of modern feminism in Chile. He worked for the recovery of women's history and researched on women's participation in politics. His contributions to feminist theory, feminists influenced other Latin American countries. During the military dictatorship, took part in protest actions and became involved with human rights organizations. In 1979, is one of the founders of the Circle of Women's Studies, which then give way to the creation of the Casa de la Mujer La Morada, where Juliet had a leadership role, proposing the formation of the Feminist Movement in Chile, under the theme "Democracy in the country and at home."
